Every Woman
Liesel Zink and collaborators (QLD)
Every Woman is a research process towards a large-scale public performance installation where women will collectively embody diverse and intersectional feminist movements.
Liesel Zink is an award-winning Australian choreographer interested in the body within shifting environmental and political landscapes. Seeking to engage new and diverse audiences in meaningful arts experiences, she creates dance works in public space and uses her process as a platform for artistic, cultural and intergenerational exchange.
In research for this project, Liesel is having conversations with a diverse range of women to collectively re-imagine our future with female voices at the core. She is working in consultation with creative producer Kate McDonald Baggerson who specialises in socially engaged and participatory arts practices, and dramaturg Sanja Simic.

Residency Outcome
As existing social structures crumble, in the wake of large scale crisis and global upheaval, I am hopeful for the possibility of something new. This is a time to question who we are, what is important to us, how we want to exist in this world and with each other. Historically, in the colonised West, the privileged, predominantly white male voice has remained dominant across social and political discourse – I want to push against this patriarchal tendency in search of alternatives.
I have focused my adhocracy research on conversation with some amazing women, discussing, re-imagining and dreaming our collective future(s). My digital response shares statements from these conversations; they are a glimpse into the possibilities that emerge from our collective voice. Thank you to the women I have had conversations with so far, including Roxanne McDonald, Amrita Hepi, Anisa Nandaula, Katina Olsen, Zohar Spatz, Angharad Wynne-Jones, Nithya Nagarajan, Shari Irwin, Renae and Olivia Pinazza.
